The Marshal Józef Piłsudski Municipal Stadium at Sportowa 2 Street in Bydgoszcz is a historic, over 100 years old venue. Opened in 1924 by Polish President Stanisław Wojciechowski, even before the war it was the arena for international games, athletics competitions and the Polish Speedway Championships. Today, the facility is the hub of the clubs ŻKS Abramczyk Polonia and KP Polonia, as well as the stage for the prestigious Tauron Speedway Euro Championship, with all competitions regularly broadcast on television.
Ongoing speedway and football competitions require opening the facility in the evening and using artificial lighting. Due to that, the stadium was in need of lighting that would reflect the dynamic rivalries taking place on the field and meet the stringent standards for speedway venues. A comprehensive lighting design and top-quality floodlights were supplied by LUG, where we understand that lighting is not only technology, but also an element of sporting events, providing an entirely new level of thrill.
