Professional lighting solutions by LUG Light Factory were used to illuminate yet another infrastructural object, this time in Africa.

Until recently, the Algerian metro was 9.5 km long with fourteen stations along its only line. The construction works on a 4 km extension which were launched in October 2012 have been recently finished and four new stations, illuminated by LUG, were introduced to the public. Proposals for two further extensions are under development.

For the needs of the Algiers Metro extension project, LUG Light Factory designed and manufactured a customised version of LUGTRAIN – suspended lighting systems developed especially for use in train and metro stations, platforms and tunnels. The luminaire offers high-quality lighting combined with universal design suitable for basically any type of infrastructural object. LUGTRAIN body is made of aluminium profile and UV resistant polyester material reinforced with fibreglass what allowed LUG engineers to reach a mechanical impact resistance of IK10 and dust and water resistance of IP65/20.
