Light+Building 2016: report from our stand!

Light+Building fair taking place every two years in Frankfurt am Main is one of the most important events in the lighting sector in the world. As one of the leading European manufacturers of professional lighting solutions, LUG has regularly participated in the fair since 2002, presenting a wide range of solutions using the newest discoveries of lighting technologies during every edition.
The LUG stand during this year's edition of the Light+Building fair included the essence of the most important, global trends in the lighting industry. According to the motto of the fair, LUG as one of the leading European lighting manufacturers created a place within the fair space, in which the ideas of individualism, digitisation and network cooperation reigned supreme.
The area of 240 m2 hosted zones dedicated to three brands present in the LUG Light Factory portfolio: LUG, FLASH DQ and LUGBOX, which presented a total of over 200 luminaires. The following luminaires noted their first appearance during the fair: POWERLUG MINI LED, CRUISER 2 LED, URBINI LED (representing the LUG brand), LUGSTAR SPOT LED (representing the LUGBOX brand), ARAYE, MANASLU, LIBRA and NOISE (representing the FLASH DQ brand). Products presented during the fair at the stand could not miss the luminaires distinguished in prestigious competitions: POWERLUG LED (iF Design Award 2016 winner), URBANO LED (Good Design 2015 award winner) and TINO LB LED (Top Design Award 2016 winner).
In addition to the products themselves, four Virtual Reality stands hosted within LUG’s stand found a lot of interest, providing the visitors with the opportunity to take a virtual walk within six sceneries corresponding to street, office, commercial, industrial, residential and exterior lighting sceneries. The virtual walks allowed the guests to take a look at luminaires installed in their natural, functional environment and to select lighting for the particular space, according to individual preferences. Since three-dimensional models of LUG products used in the VR sceneries reflect not only the design, but also lighting parameters of the luminaires, it was possible to see them first-hand, but also to see how they light up individual spaces.
The Light+Bilding 2016 fair also saw the first appearance of inteLUG, LUG’s smart lighting management system. The system enables full control and programmable management of both internal and external lighting. inteLUG also provides its users with real-time access to parameters, such as current energy consumption or temperature inside the luminaire. All of the functions are available remotely, from any location in the world, using an application operating under iOS, Android, or via a web browser.
The wide range of products and solutions presented at Light+Building 2016 reflects LUG’s development strategy towards modern technologies and support tools dedicated to current and future business partners of the company in three key sectors: architects, contractors and distributors.
It should be remembered that the biggest lighting fair in the world provides not only a unique opportunity for the participants to present their technical and design capability, but also a chance to reinforce their market position and a chance for open dialogue with their competition. It is also an excellent platform offering communication with current and potential future customers, as well as a priceless source of information about the condition of the entire sector. I think that thanks to one of the most interesting stands during this year's edition of Light+Building we took full advantage of opportunities offered by the fair.
